Southern Governor chairs Security Committee meeting

Manama: Southern Governor, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, chaired today the 2nd Security Committee meeting for this year, which was held remotely in the presence of his deputy, Brigadier Isa Thamer Al Dossari and a number of officers representing security departments at the Interior Ministry.

HH the Southern Governor welcomed the attendees, stressing that meeting citizens’ security needs is a pioneering goal to achieve development. He pointed out the role of the committee in carrying out the directives of Interior Minister, General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, through promoting community partnership and boosting security.

The committee followed up on the efforts made in taking the necessary procedures to handle the coronavirus pandemic. HH the Southern Governor stressed continuous efforts to boost awareness and ensure people’s safety through adherence to precautionary measures and regulations.

The meeting spotlighted various issues pertaining to the security field, including launching electronic services to upgrade modern security methods and the efforts of the Civil Defence Centre in Riffa to put out a fire that broke out in a restaurant in West Riffa.

HH the Southern Governor commended vigilance and security readiness of the Civil Defence personnel and their swift response to extinguish the fire.

For their part, the Security Committee members expressed thanks and appreciation to HH the Southern Governor for continuous partnership and keenness on ensuring the security and safety of citizens through the implementation of various initiatives.
