Manama: In connection with the birth of Kerala, Malayalam Language Day was celebrated at the Indian School with various programmes. The events were organized online under the auspices of the Malayalam Department of the school.
Keralites celebrate the birth of Kerala on November 1 to commemorate the formation of the state of Kerala. In connection with this, a week-long programme was held at the Indian School. In the context of Covid 19, students studying Malayalam from class VI to X participated in the festivities from home. HoD Bismi Jommy coordinated the programme.
Head Teacher Parvathi Devadas and Malayalam teachers gave the language day message. There were speeches, poems, songs, Kerala dance and posters prepared by the students on the occasion of Malayalam Day. The main attraction of the event was the PowerPoint presentation on the heritage, culture and unity of Kerala and paying tributes to those who died in the natural calamities.
In his message, ISB Hon. Chairman Prince S Natarajan said that learning the mother tongue was very helpful in discovering and developing artistic and literary talents.
ISB Hon. Secretary Saji Antony said that learning the mother tongue was essential to grow in enjoyment and friendship.
Principal VR Palaniswamy appreciated the efforts of the Indian School Teachers who have been providing excellent support and guidance to the students.
